Ok so the Israelis have been attacking Gaza for the last 12 or 13 days. Over 700 palestanians have lost their lives and several thousand have been wounded. This is an absolute atrocity that is occuring. I am in no way denying Israel's right to exist however, the palestanians need a homeland as well. Today on January 8th, 2009 at 12:14 p.m. already eleven have been killed. Lebanon is now getting involved in the crisis. The Israelis and the Palestanians both need to find a way to co-exist before this crisis turns into World War III. It is not fair to say to either side that they have to live under sanctions and embargoes and under the rule of someone else. Both sides have the right to exist.
Currently in Palestine a humanitarian issue exists. They are cut off from food water and healthcare (atleast proper healthcare anyway). Out of the over 700 Palestanians dead, most are women and children. While most of the world is protesting in support of Palestine due to the humanitarian issue that exists there, America condones the acts of Palestine and stands strongly behind Israel saying a threat, any threat to Israel is a threat to the stability in the Middle East. However, the poor people of Palestine, what can they do? They have no real army and no real way of protecting themselves. While the Palestanians are throwing rocks, Israel is firing at them. This is not a fair fight.
I am not Pro-Israel. My heart goes out to the people of Palestine. However, I am not saying Israel does not have the right to exist. They do in fact have the right. But when an Israeli tells me that Palestine does not have the right to exist or that because I am middle Eastern I am anti-Israeli, I go crazy. How can you deny a countries right to exist especially when the fate of your own so called homeland is in the balance? Both countries have the right to exist and both countries need to do so in peace.
God bless Palestine. God bless America. Gaza Gaza don't you cry!! Allah Akbar Allah Akbar Allah Akbar.
