Very interesting info on Iraq

So I am not sure where I found this but its really interesting...I think someone emailed it to me. Its just some quick tidbits of info.

Mesopotamia, the cradle of civlization is present day Iraq.
The garden of Eden was in Iraq.
The Tower of Babel was in Iraq.
Noah built the ark in Iraq.
Isaac's wife is from Nahor,Iraq
Jacob met Rachel in Iraq.
Assyria, which is in Iraq, conquered the ten tribes of Israel.
Babylon which is in Iraq destroyed Jerusalem.
Daniel was inthe lion's den in Iraq.
The wise men were from Iraq.
Peter preached in Iraq.
Nebuchadnezzar carried the Jews captive into Iraq.
The second most mention nation in the Bible, after Israel, is Iraq. However it was not called that. It was called Babylon, Land of Shinar, Mesopotamia. The word mesopotamia means between two rivers. (tigris and euphrates) The name Iraq means country with deep roots.

I just find it fascinating that Iraq has so much history behind it. It is so interesting that a country that is in shambles today was one the homeland to so much history.
