So Hello Kitty recently celebrated its 35th anniversary. How cute is that??
I remember having Hello Kitty merchandise when I was a kid back in the 90's. I grew up with Hello Kitty and I have seen how Hello Kitty has transformed and how I have transformed. We sort of grew up together. (not really considering Hello Kitty is 35 and I am soon to be 20)
Hello Kitty originated in Japan in 1974 and became an international phenomenon that still exists 35 years later. The design started out with just a simple coin purse and now has everything from coin purses to stationary, pencils, accessories for little girls' hair, backpacks, purses etc.
According to various new sources, Hello Kitty has a theme for its 35th anniversary: Colors. Each color represents a certain message/symbol. These colors are supposed to help show fans all across the world what they know and love about Hello Kitty as well as how something that started off so small has become so big.
I just hope kids are able to appreciate and enjoy a fashion icon as much as I have in the past for another 35 years.
